Victoria Gardens Best Date Ideas
Chelsea Flower Show 2021 is back, taking place in autumn for the first time in its 108-year history. Originally due to take place in May, the prestigious gardening event was postponed to autumn as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
LIMITED TICKETS AVAILABLE: BUY NOW
Chelsea Flower Show kicks off this week, running from 21st September to 26th September for a total of six days for the first time ever.
There will be reduced visitor numbers compared to pre-COVID shows, with 140,000 visitors at the show over six days, compared to 168,500 over five days in 2019.
Now celebrating the best of autumn horticulture, the September Show will no doubt be very different to the usual spring event during the key gardening season, but you can expect spectacular autumnal gardens and displays. Seasonal highlights will include Salvias, Asters, Dahlias, grasses and fruit and vegetables.

Chelsea Flower Show 2020 was sadly cancelled following the start of the pandemic last year, but was replaced with the first ever Virtual RHS Chelsea Flower Show. The future of this year's show had been speculated given that the London Marathon has been postponed from April to October 2021, and the cancelled Glastonbury music festival, which will now take place in June 2022.
The RHS has been working behind the scenes to ensure that Chelsea Flower Show 2021 can successfully go ahead, with the health and safety of its members, visitors, exhibitors and staff remaining its number one priority.
RHS postponed the 2021 Chelsea Flower Show to later in the year, when 'millions more people will have been vaccinated and it is more likely that the levels of infection will have reduced substantially', the gardening charity said.

Additionally, restaurants will be made more open with spaced seating and table service, with a reduction of closed seated restaurants.
The gardening charity said they are '100 per cent committed' to operating its shows and will 'remain agile in adapting and modifying' plans in line with government guidance.
The positive impact of plants on our health and wellbeing is set to be the biggest theme at RHS Chelsea 2021, alongside a few new categories: Sanctuary Gardens, Balcony Gardens and Container Gardens. Take a look at all the gardens below.
